T-Box Remote Engine Off Immobilizer Installation
Because of the special control requirements of anti-Hijack and anti-theft for rental cars, most rental cars need install the immobilizer engine cut relay, in order to control & turn off car engine on the platform in an emergency. The following are some installation methods, for different model vehicle, which installation is better need to be determined based on the analysis of the situation, and cannot be generalized.
Now many new model vehicles on the market basically have the original engine electronic disable and lock system, that is the original engine electronic security system. These vehicles with the original engine security system will disable the engine start after the vehicle central locking system is locked. So T-Box output can control the original remote or security chip to disable & enable the engine start by internet platform request, however if the car engine has been started,the engine cannot be turn off by internet, so the engine cut immobilizer relay still need to be installed to control remotely turn off car engine by internet.
For some older or lower-configuration model vehicles, they have not the original engine electronic security system, for these vehicles the engine cut immobilizer relay also need to be installed to disable & enable engine start and control remotely turn off car engine by internet.
The immobilizer is essentially a big current relay with the sockets & wires. The immobilizer relay connection wiring are as follow:
The 2 wires on the 30 and 87a metal pin on the relay are the input and output wires of the cut relay. These two wires are normally connected together, that is normally always Connected. The 85 and 86 metal pin of the cut relay are the control signal lines of the relay, one of 85 & 86 connect to 12V, and the another of 85 & 86 connect to the T-Box immobilizer output control wire, this control wire is active at low level voltage and the drive capacity is 500mA, when the T-Box disable & turn off car engine, a low-level voltage signal is output to trigger the immobilizer relay to disconnect 30 & 87a metal pin wiring, so the engine start is disabled or the starting engine is turned off.
Generally, the immobilizer relay can cut off the following power lines or control lines:
1. ON Signal Wire or Constant Power Supply Wire
Generally, the ON signal wire is the whole car power supply wire, or normally 12V wire after the engine is started. Cut off the ON wire can directly cause the vehicle engine can not be started, and for the vehicle engine that is starting, it will directly cause the engine flame out.
Mechanical key start engine vehicle: The ON wire for this kind of vehicle is generally found on the car key hols socket. Use a multimeter can test it. The wire with 12V after the car key is turned to the ON position is generally the ON wire. You can try to disconnect it to see if the car engine can be started or not.
Original push button start vehicle: The push start control box can be fund along the connection of the original push start button. Normally the output wire of the push start control box can be cut off to control the car engine stop. Simply disconnect the control wire or output wire, or directly disconnect the power supply of the push start control box is OK.
This method is suitable for both petrol or diesel and electric vehicles.
Note: For disconnecting the ON signal wire and the main power supply wire, the car can be controlled to turn off the car engine remotely. For the driving car, the foot brake auxiliary power and steering auxiliary power will lose and the control will be very difficult, which may cause certain dangers. It may cause traffic accidents and personal injury, so this method has certain risks, use it with caution!
2. Car Battery Main Power Supply
When the car’s ON signal wire is difficult to find, it is more easy to cut off the main power supply of the car’s 12V or 24V battery. Note that when the power is cut off in this way, cut off part of the main power supply is OK. Please note keep the T-Box power supply. Generally, the main fuse box will be divided into several power supply after the main power comes out. Just cut off some of them, so that the current will not be too large.
This method is suitable for both petrol or diesel and electric vehicles.
Note: For disconnecting the car battery power supply, the car can be controlled to turn off the car engine remotely. For the driving car, the foot brake auxiliary power and steering auxiliary power will lose and the control will be very difficult, which may cause certain dangers. 3. Ignition control module power supply
Now all gasoline vehicles are electronically controlled ignition circuits. Find the ignition control module, turn off the power of the ignition control module, the engine will immediately turn off. This method is similar to methods 1 and 2. It will also cause the car to turn off immediately, which also has a higher risk.
This method is only suitable for petrol vehicle, not suitable for electric vehicles.
4. Petrol Pump motor power supply
Fuel vehicles use electronic petrol pumps to pump petrol out of the fuel tank and supply it to the engine. Controlling the petrol pump power supply can control the engine's flameout and disable the engine start. The petrol pump is generally on the fuel tank, and most of the car fuel tank is under the rear seats and needs to be lifted. It can be seen by opening or removing the rear seats. Disconnect the power cord of the electrical oil pump connection socket to control the car to stop supplying petrol. In this way, the remaining fuel in the fuel pipe will run out a few minutes later, and the car engine will stall because it cannot supply fuel.
After this method is remotely turned off, the car engine will not turn off immediately, generally it will be delayed 1-2 minutes, and gasoline is gradually out of supply, the car engine will slowly turn off, the driver will perceive that the car is malfunctioning, which is not easy to cause danger and traffic Accident.
Because most of the car fuel tank is under the rear seats and needs removing the seats to find petrol pump, the wire is very long and it is not easy to layout and wiring, so it is not easy to install. We can find the petrol pump relay or petrol pump fuse on the fuse box, disconnect the control wire or power supply wire of the petrol pump will be more easy.
This method is suitable for petrol or diesel vehicles, not suitable for electric vehicle.
5. Ignition security sensing coil
Now most vehicle have the original engine electronic security system. This security system will check the security chip on the remote control through the electronic induction coil. Disconnecting the induction coil will disable engine starting, but it cannot turn off the engine that is starting. In addition, this method is currently only applicable to models without push button start. Because the models with push button start have multiple induction coils, this method is generally not applicable.
This method is suitable for both petrol or diesel and electric vehicles.

6. Push button start vehicle
For models with the original push start button, directly disconnect the control line of the push start button can disable the engine starting, but it will not stop the engine that is running. In addition, this method is currently only applicable to the push button start models.
This method is suitable for both petrol or diesel and electric vehicles.
This method only can disable the engine starting, but it cannot turn off the engine that is starting.
7. Engine start motor driving wire
For petrol or diesel vehicle, the engine is started by a starter motor. The driving wire of the starter motor can be directly disconnected to disable the engine start. Generally, the starter motor is located under the engine compartment, near the bottom of the engine, and outputs when starting. 12V high level, it is easy to confirm by testing with a test pencil when starting.
This method is only suitable for both petrol or diesel vehicles, it is not suit for electronics vehicle.
This method only can disable the engine starting, but it cannot turn off the engine that is starting.
8. Various power supplies in the main fuse box
The main fuse box of most cars is in the car engine compartment, and some other wire fuses are located under or on both sides of the driving seat. For details, please refer to the car’s user manual. Open the cover of the fuse box to see various wires & relay. The control power supply for various modules is easier to find here. You can control the power supply of the corresponding module by directly cutting off the wire connected to the corresponding fuse. This way, it will be much easier to find the wire, and there is no need to connect too long wires.

Open the cover of the fuse box, various fuses and some relays can be seen, refer to the manual can find the description of the fuse box.
The description of the fuse and the relay also can be found on the back of the fuse box cover.
Fuse & relay description can be found according to the instructions, test the corresponding wire to confirm. If the main fuse box can not be found in the car engine compartment, maybe under the car panel or on both sides or in the trunk, please find it by referring to the user manual.
This method is suitable for both petrol or diesel and electric vehicles.
Which engine cut installation is more suitable for a vehicle, a specific analysis needs to be done for the vehicle type, and it cannot be generalized.
